After Effects
This Giant Composite was a project assigned in my VSFX 130: Visual Effects based Cinematography. We has to use what we learned about filming on green screens to match the lighting of an outdoor scene and make a person or other moving thing/object giant in comparison. This was my first time using nuke to key out a green screen and track a moving camera instead of a locked off shot.
Clean Plate
I knew for my project I wanted to make a mundane task seem scary but also make it so absurd it’s funny. So I managed to convince my sister to act like she was going to get the mail before seeing a giant dog emerge from behind the house. So here is my clean plate before I added my dog in.
Green Screen Footage
Thankfully my dog (Princess) loves pepperoni or else this would have been a lot harder. By laying treats down on the screen screen, I was able to get her to walk in the way I needed her too for the footage I already filmed. My green screen at the time was very wrinkly and since Princess is so small, her shadow became a problem for my key. I ended up having to do a lot of rotoing just to take out the parts that wouldn’t key correctly.
